Lulu Cardigan Sewalong
When I got the idea to design the Lulu Cardigan, I was looking for a cardigan for my own wardrobe and couldn’t quite find what I was looking for. I wanted a fitted and cropped style that could go dressy or casual.
Today we will cover sewing the bodice pieces of your Lulu Cardigan. The bodice is made up of four pattern pieces: Center Front Bodice, Center Back Bodice, Side Panel, and Shoulder patch.
By the end of this post, your cardigan will start looking like a cardigan!
If sewing Version B of the Lulu Cardigan Pattern, grab your ribbing and your zipper! The hem band and zipper closure give this cardigan that sporty, vintage-meets-modern style that I love. We’re almost done!
Version B of the Lulu Cardigan features a peplum bottom and snap closures, giving this top a more romantic spin. In this post, I’ll show you how to attach the peplum and sew the placket for the snap closures (or buttons, if you want to brave sewing buttonholes in a knit!).
This post is gonna be quick and easy! I’ll show you how to finish the sleeve hems for both versions of the Lulu Cardigan.
